Thembekile Leshabane is an unemployed mother of two and resides in Cottondale, Acornhoek. She joined Phakamani Foundation after hearing about the organisation through a relative. Her first loan was R1 700 which she used to buy tuckshop stock.

She was initially afraid to apply for a loan with Phakamani as she was not sure whether her business would be successful. Thembekile stays with her mother, grandmother and her two kids.

She had recommended Phakamani Foundation to some of her friends, and they are already running successful businesses. As a single mother, her life is improving since joining Phakamani and her future plans include growing her business, building a bigger house, and financing her children through school.
