Khanyisile Zandile Dlamini had a successful sewing business in town prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Unfortunately, due to the drop in demand, she was unable to maintain her business in town and had to work from home doing alterations only for her customers.

She was introduced to Phakamani Foundation in July 2023 and took an initial loan of R2,000 which enabled her to purchase materials to restart her sewing business.

Khanyisile is once again renting a space in town, where she makes bed sheets and pillowcases. Her business has improved with each loan cycle, and she is grateful for the progress she has made in a relatively short time.  She used her second loan to purchase a roll of cushioning and has started making bed comforter sets.  She is also making curtains

Khanyisile is pleased with the service she has received from Phakamani, and her learning’s from the training and ongoing support received.  Particularly, she has learnt the importance of saving and reinvesting in stock to steadily develop her business.

She is grateful for the opportunity that has enabled her to take care of her three unemployed children and a grandchild.
