Jane Mnisi uses her loan to stock up bulk meat that she sells for a living. The access to capital also helps to ensure she can afford transportation costs when she hires a truck for pick-ups. Before joining Phakamani she had been a budding entrepreneur, selling clothes. Working with Phakamani helped her to create a new plan and she soon began to offer a product that was in great demand in her community: protein.
Jane has been able to update her two room house into a larger home that can accommodate her whole family and she has also been able to improve the safety of her family by having burglar-proof doors and windows installed. She recently purchased a 4-plate stove for her kitchen as well as 2 freezers for her meat stock, demonstrating increased financial security.
With the support of Phakamani she now makes an income that is enough for her to support a family of seven and afford tertiary education fees for three of her children. Jane is determined to save enough money to buy her own truck. She is proud of her successes and so is the Phakamani team!
