Glenda Ngobeni is married with two children. When her husband lost his job in 2020 Glenda started looking for employment opportunities without any success. In early 2022 she joined Phakamani Foundation and started her small business.
Glenda is planning to build a big fresh produce market as there are very limited fruit and vegetable businesses in her village. She is grateful to Phakamani for the type of support she has received in starting up her business. She is well supported by members of her village and is happy that she can make a difference in her community as people do not have to travel into town for their fresh fruit and vegetables.
Glenda says that her life has improved with the help of Phakamani Foundation, and she would like to encourage other young women to do something for themselves rather than complaining about the lack of jobs and opportunities in South Africa. The training that she has received from Phakamani Foundation has taught Glenda the importance of saving, and this is what she will be doing going ahead.
