We are more than half way through 2016 and with your partnership Phakamani continues to make measurable impacts in the lives of women, their families and their communities across South Africa. We hope this latest newsletter brings you a sense of pride and joy as you read some stories of our clients and catch up on what’s new in the field. It has been a very busy and successful year. We would not have been able to accomplish all we have without God’s help and guidance and the love and support of so many of you.
EXCITING UPDATES FROM THE FIELD
- The stats for June show that Phakamani continues to grow in impact while maintaining high standards. In fact the number of active clients is up 65% from this time last year and yet our repayment is at 99.1%!! It has been a busy year.
- The project to install new technology to provide more current and meaningful data is in full swing.
Candece Cameron, a volunteer from Australia, spent 3 weeks with Phakamani in June doing some much needed field research and assisting with the new technology implementation. - 16 staff members are in training for the new branches in in KZN (Vryheid and Jozini) and we are also working on a new branch in Letsitele in Limpopo.
- Additional business training is being rolled out in each of our monthly centre meetings. We continue to work hard to implement creative ways to illustrate business issues using storytelling and comic strips.
