Busisiwe Zwane is a creative entrepreneur, making her own shoes with a plastic molded sole and wool. She learned how to make shoes at a community project in Nelspruit. It takes two hours to make a pair of shoes and she sells about 20 pairs a month to teachers and others in the local community. She also goes door to door taking orders.

With a keen eye on the competition, Busisiwe does all the work herself to keep the process a secret. This way she does not risk losing customers.

Since she has had access to capital through Phakamani she has been able to buy more stock and supplies for more customers. Before Phakamani she did not have enough money to buy materials.

In the future she wants to provide more for her family since this business supports three adults. One way she knows she has grown is that she can now afford little treats like buying sweets for her family.
