Maria took out her first loan with Phakamani in the beginning of 2014. Since then she has borrowed and repaid seven additional loans. Access to this capital has enabled her to expand her seamstress services by purchasing fabric, bedding rolls and taffeta.
Additionally, partnering with Phakamani helped Maria to plan and successfully accomplish numerous business goals including buying two new sewing machines and building a garage to work from. As her business has grown, her family life has also seen benefits including the ability to send one of her children to driving school and purchase healthier food.
