4th Quarter 2014 Updates

January 15, 2015 Melissa Eli Leave a Comment

Hope you are enjoying the year so far. The Phakamani team is well into the plans for 2015 and feeling positive and excited about what the year will hold. Expansion and efforts to increase efficiency and impact are already well underway.

At the close of 2014 Phakamani was proud to share that we were serving more than 10 000 active clients. It is also worth noting that due to our team’s hard work, diligence and commitment to the women we serve, the loan repayment rate was 98.5% at years end.

We continued to be blessed by those of you that support our efforts, financially or with prayers and other support. We will continue to count on this support throughout the coming year as we expect 2015 to be another year of significant growth.

Exciting Updates From The Field

  • The merger of two branches in Nkomazi is going extremely well. These efforts will increase efficiency and help us to better serve a greater number of women.
  • The 7th annual awards lunch took place in January. It was a great day of celebration, sharing and planning. We are grateful and proud of all Phakamani‘s staff but want want to make special note of the nine staff members that have been with Phakamani for over five years. These individuals continue to grow in skill and responsibility.
  • The Phakamani US Fund is preparing to wrap up their annual fundraising efforts. Visit giveahandup.com and check us out on Facebook to learn how you can get involved in the effort to capture entrepreneurial and business advice to share with Phakamani‘s clients.
  • As we announced late last year, Phakamani‘s Job’s Fund application was accepted and we have begun to expand into a new province, kwaZulu Natal. This is exciting news indeed and the result of a great deal of hard work by many individuals over several years.
