2015 Bi-Annual Report

March 1, 2016 Melissa Eli Leave a Comment

Greetings Friends!

I am very excited to share with you Phakamani’s bi- annual report. This report highlights some of the organization’s upcoming plans for expanding their regional presence and programming impact. I continue to be amazed by this remarkable organization. Phakamani ended 2015 with almost 12,000 active clients and has impacted more than 55,000 since 2008. They continue to do this efficiently and with wisdom which allows them to maximize the portion of the budget that goes to program services. In 2015 more than R30,000,000 were loaned out and the repayment rate was above 98%.

Mark, Shirley and the entire Phakamani team (now more than 120 people!) are extraordinary individuals with a passion for service and empowerment. They are making a huge difference throughout many areas of the country. As you will read, the South African government recently informed the organization that it will not be receiving operational grants in 2016. This news is not going to prevent the team from reaching their goals for the coming years! It does mean the role of individual supporters, like you, will be even more important.

Please reach out to me if you would like to learn how you can get involved with this great organization and help empower South African women to shape their future and the future of their families and communities through the power of their ideas and hard work. I would love to share with you how Phakamani is working to shape a better future one village and one entrepreneur at a time.

Please take a moment to follow Phakamani on Facebook. I am honored to partner with Phakamani and you to help make a brighter future possible for so many women and their families in South Africa.

Sincerely,

Rhoda Olsen and the Phakamani US Team
